Berlitz interpreter 2 is a very small, simple and free program that translates German, French, English, Italian and Spanish into each other.

It will even run on very old machines and almost all windows versions including very old ones like Windows 3.11 and probably even older. But it also runs on Windows XP just fine (don't know about Vista and newer ones though).
